Listening stays on your device

Pineal does not require an account. Favorites, listening history, daily listening totals, reminder plans and playback preferences are saved locally. Listening history is not sent to Pineal’s server by the app’s history feature.

Local data can be removed through your device’s app storage controls. Device backups and operating-system storage behavior may affect which data remains after reinstalling the app.

Purchases and access

Apple processes App Store payments. When purchases are configured, Pineal uses RevenueCat to retrieve products, make and restore purchases, and check access to paid content. The app uses a random installation identifier rather than an email address or hardware identifier for this integration.

Purchase information includes product identifiers, transaction information and access status. Pineal does not collect your payment-card details. Restoring purchases uses your App Store purchase history through these services.

Reminders, news and offers

Notifications are optional. Session reminders are scheduled on your device from your chosen days and local time. Your local listening totals help the app skip a reminder after you have listened that day.

News about audio and offers have separate choices in Settings. If you enable remote notifications, the app registers a push token, random installation identifier, notification preferences, platform, app version, language and time zone with Pineal’s notification service. The service can also use purchase-access status to decide which messages apply to you.

Remote notifications are delivered through Expo and the platform’s notification service. You can change your choices in Pineal Settings or turn notifications off in your phone settings. Turning off session reminders cancels their pending local notifications.

Website, catalog and audio requests

Opening this website or loading the app’s catalog and streamed audio sends requests to the servers that provide them. Those requests include technical connection information, such as an IP address and browser or device request headers. Hosting services may retain operational logs.

Shared session links contain a session title or pillar. The app’s sharing feature does not include your installation identifier, favorites or private audio download URLs.
